Strugger

Arkasia - Voices from the clouds

This is for an art-trade with Tallur 
This character, called Strugger, belongs to her!

At first I wanted to draw Semic or Blue, but she uploaded a ref for this creature right after we decided to do the art trade. I recognised strugger from some of her other sketches and he intrigued me so much so I had to draw him
I love Strugger for how gloomy the character is. It's a being that lives in a dark cave and never comes out. He's pretty much always starving because there is nearly no food there, he's lonely and he's terrified of everything. It reminds me of my own Chaots that are also permanently in some sort of fragile state, and yet always survive.
I don't know what Strugger's story would be. Maybe one day he'll meet another being that likes the dark and will become his friend and save him from his lonelyness? Or perhaps Strugger would suffer forever, and he would just be a grim background character that adds to the nature of the world, a dark tale of the rotten cave...

It was far outside my teeny tiny comfortzone, so I spend a lot of time looking at references and sketches from Tallur. I was fascinated by Struggers bone move ability that he uses to defend himself, so I gave him those spikes (they're usually not there). I also found a sketch of Tallur where Strugger appeared to bleed out of his "wound". I imagined this is how Strugger weeps, and I also felt like drawing that. So in this drawing Strugger is scared of something, he grew spikes to make himself feel more save and he's also crying, out of fear or something else perhaps.

This has got to be the most digital drawing I ever made, it feels almost like a painting to me That's why it took me so long.
